Each February 21, communities observe UNESCO International Mother Language Day with MLLWS and partners across Canada.
UNESCO proclaimed February 21 as International Mother Language Day in 1999. MLLWS marks the day with schools, libraries, and civic partners — and keeps the work going the rest of the year through festivals, advocacy, and education.
