On 21 November 2020, MLLWS and friends gathered online to remember Rafiqul Islam, founding president and the person whose letter to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan helped set International Mother Language Day in motion.
His work still shapes how we celebrate mother languages in Canada and around the world.
